As Sam meets a fellow hitchhiker named Meg Masters (Nicki Aycox), Dean starts the investigation and saves a traveling couple from a living scarecrow.
Played by Adrianne Palicki, Jessica is unaware of any connection that Sam has to the supernatural, despite having been in a relationship with him for over two years. However, she is killed by an accomplice of Azazel in order to force Sam into the life that he is supposedly meant to live.
