Football league season
The 2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (officially the Brasileirão Assaí 2024 for sponsorship reasons) was the 66th season 8️⃣ of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top level of professional football in Brazil, and the 19th edition in a 8️⃣ double round-robin since its establishment in 2003. The competition began on 9 April and ended on 13 November 2024.[1]
The top 8️⃣ six teams as well as the 2024 Copa do Brasil champions qualified for the Copa Libertadores. The next six best-placed 8️⃣ teams not qualified for Copa Libertadores qualified for the Copa Sudamericana and the last four were relegated to Série B 8️⃣ for 2024.
Palmeiras won the competition, securing their eleventh league title with three rounds to go after Internacional's 1–0 defeat to 8️⃣ América Mineiro on 2 November.[2] Atlético Mineiro were the defending champions.
