This trend started before the pandemic as buffets were not a good use of space and they had been slowly disappearing. Covid, however, hastened that and now most of the buffets that remain are very high-end destination experiences.
LAS VEGAS As coronavirus spreads, some of Sin City's most popular stops are shutting down along the Strip: Buffets. On March 15, MGM Resorts International will temporarily close buffets at the company's seven Strip properties: ARIA, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Luxor and Excalibur.
