Hold'em is not unlike other poker games like five-card draw. However, the way players construct their hands in Texas hold'em is a little different than in draw poker. It's always possible a player can "bluff" and get others to fold better hands. These face-up cards are called the 'community cards.'
In regular poker, each player is dealt a complete hand, while in Texas Hold 'em, players are dealt two "hole" cards and then use five community cards to make the best possible hand. As for which game is more fun, that is subjective and depends on personal preference.
