Significance. La Fortaleza (The Fortress) was the first true fortification in San Juan, established in 152l. The Spanish built it between 1533 and 1540 for protection against raids by Carib Indians and by English and French freebooters.
Fortaleza is one of the most sought after brands because it is one of the most traditionally made brands. This directly plays into why it is so hard to find. The cost is also high due to its high demand. Many people have learned about the brand in the last year or so.
