Índice Global de Pôquer: o que é e como é calculado?

O Índice Global de Pôquer (GPI, na sigla em poker fechado inglês) é uma classificação internacional de jogadores de pôquer profissionais, considerando seu desempenho em poker fechado torneios com compra de buy-in (ou "ingresso").

A obtenção do GPI é feita por meio do seguinte cálculo: Fator de Compra, Fator de Encerramento e Fator de Envelhecimento. O Fator de Compra representa a medida de dificuldade relativa, supondo que buy-ins maiores atraiam um campo de jogadores mais habilidosos. O fator mediano é calculado dividindo o equivalente em poker fechado dólares de um buy-in de R$1.000 (incluído o valor da taxa) por 1.000.

  • Fator de Compra: é o cálculo de dificuldade relativa, levando em poker fechado conta o valor do buy-in.
  • Fator de Encerramento: considera a posição do jogador no encerramento do torneio.
  • Fator de Envelhecimento: isenta o jogador do desempenho passado ao longo do tempo.

Em poker, a hierarquia de mãos ocorre nesta ordem: par é melhor que uma carta alta; dois pares são melhores que um par; trinca é melhor que um par; sequência (ou flush) é melhor que uma trinca; flush (ou naipe) é melhor que uma sequência; full house (trinca mais par) é melhor que flush; quadra é melhor que um full house; e straight flush (sequência no mesmo naipe) é melhor que uma quadra.
