What is an inside bet?

In roulette, an inside bet is where you put your chips on individual numbers inside the 5️⃣ roulette grid. Because you’re focusing on individual numbers, rather than any red number for example, the roulette odds are significantly 5️⃣ reduced. However, with the higher risk comes a greater reward, so your payout would be more generous.

Putting your chips on 5️⃣ a single number is called a straight-up bet, and this is the most common type of inside bet, paying out 5️⃣ at 35:1 in European and American Roulette.

What is an outside bet?

Outside bets are made by placing your bet on options 5️⃣ outside of the numbered roulette grid. These bets increase your chances of winning on each spin, but pay out less 5️⃣ than an inside bet would.
