Controversies. Following an investigation by The Sunday Times in 2024, 1xBet's licence was rescinded by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) after revelations of involvement "promoting a "pornhub casino", bets on children's sports and advertising on illegal websites."
The three Russian founders of 1xBet, Roman Semiokhin, Sergey Karshkov and Dmitry Kazorin, are all from the city of Brjansk, some 370 kilometres west of Moscow, although all three currently live in Cyprus.
