BRASILIA, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Wednesday picked Carlos Antonio Vieira Fernandes to replace Rita Serrano as CEO of state-run lender Caixa Economica Federal. Serrano had been appointed by Lula earlier this year.
Caixa Econmica Federal, also referred to as Caixa or CEF, is a Brazilian bank headquartered in the nation's capital, Braslia. It is the largest 100% government-owned financial institution in Latin America.
